There are 77 houses in the community with 15 applicants needing housing. Three of the houses have a well system while the main community is serviced by a 40,000 gallon reservoir. With the community so close to city schools there is no real need to have a band situated facility. The band does operate a high school upgrading program to grade 12 for youth and young adults

The band recently renovated their gymnasium which includes a number of offices, large meeting rooms, a weight room and a sauna. Other facilities include a playground, an outdoor ice hockey rink, a ball diamond and rodeo grounds.

Along with the 24 full time and two half time administrative staff the band owns and operates a number of businesses. The businesses are a gas station/convenience store; a re-manufacturing wood products plant, the Chief Will-Yum RV and Campsite; a logging company, Borland Creek Logging, a woodlot operation and the band leases land to outside business development. There are also private entrepreneurs in the community who operate ranches, silviculture and logging contractors, food services catering, child-care, construction and traditional arts and crafts.

Because of the close proximity to an urban centre the band finds a number of public access encroachments, especially through the main reserve. Highway 97, Mission Road and B.C. Rail and Hydro lines go through Indian Reserve (Indian Reserve #1), as well as the Likely Highway through IR #3.

The traditional territory of Williams Lake band is situated in three forest districts, fortunately all three are under the Cariboo Forest District.

The band reflects the trend towards more education: there are 30 children in elementary school, 15 youth in high school, 32 young adults at the post secondary level and 19 in upgrading programs. There were two high school graduates last June and both have gone on to post secondary education, one in criminology and the other into college prep.

The majority of the band administration's business as well as the individual member's is done in the city of Williams Lake.
